About the Band The Texas Underground Band is a progressive Texas Country Band with a raunchy side.  Our unique and diverse play list ranges from Texas icon covers by the likes of Willie, Merle, Waylon, and Cash to the modern Texas country sounds of Stoney Larue, Pat Green, Kevin Fowler, Wade Bowen, and Reckless Kelly among many other current artists.  When the mood is right we’ll throw in a shot of rock and roll.  Our live performances always lead to a good time and our rocking Texas originals like Texas Heat or Dance Hall Girls always steal the show.   The backbone of our big sound comes from Big Ol’ Mike Ray thumping his 5 string bass and emerging more and more as a key underground vocalist.  Mike is a dedicated Underground musician you can always count on and is a great guy to boot making his way from Waxahachie, Texas.  Our newest addition to the band is percussionist Mike Madden from Wills Point, Texas with a very steady beat.  We are very pleased to have Mike in the Underground Band and look forward to his contributions.  On lead steel guitar, lead 6 string guitar, and sometimes a little resonator is Paul Sisson.  Pablo Picasso as we sometimes call him for his greasy steel licks resides in Kaufman, Texas.  When Paul isn’t steeling the show (no pun intended), our front man and lead vocalist is Chip Murrey also living in Kaufman, Texas.  Chip plays the acoustic and electric guitar with and occasional salty lead thrown in.    You are invited to check out our web site, or visit our my-space pages where you can hear samples of some of our original music.  Treat yourself to one of our live shows for a unique Texas musical experience and a sho-nuff good time you’ll remember when you party underground.
